It's an OARFISH. A fish of the open ocean. Normally found in depths of 15 - 500m. Feeds on plancton.

Thanks guys, thats it, its an oarfish! It was over 3.5m long! My gran donated one to the PE museum years ago and might still be there!

 

It washed up at flat rocks last night and seem the sharky's started supper on it!:fbash
