Hi guys - by now U must have heard that the SPCA is onto the tackle shops for selling platties as live bait etc... some shops are afraid to stock them now & that leaves us, or most of us that cannot get them in a fix ..... they giving out fines to tackle shops I heard.

Any input here guys ?

Can anyone help - I'm looking for platties and day old chicks .... I had some this past festive season but have used up my stock.... much appreciated !!!

Snails with red fluoro seems to work all year round but I have found that the other "creepycrawly thingy" you are talking about works best just after winter when the barble starts to go back on the bite, normaly with September the best month for these baits. I suspect that the barbel feed on these type of baits and will persue it as it's a easy source of food becuase it is so plentyfull that time of the year and they need to fatten up after the winter months and for the spawning that will follow in a couple of weeks or in a month or so. Make no mistake that you would still pick up snorre on these baits all year round. It's just that there are better baits in my opinion in the summer months.

Well lets have a look at this like they say every action has a reaction. The guys have banned Platties from been sold to protect the little froggies, well by doing this what have they done.

They have put a whole lot of Bird in trouble, I have never seen so many guys with pellet guns hunting birds, climbing tress and raiding nest. What is the breeding rate of Frogs vs Birds a think a hell of a lot quicker with a hell of a lot more off spring. Frog 100s of babies per frog, birds one or two per nest. Sorry SPCA but you have totally F'ed this one up.
