We were there Tuesday Evening. Hit Vogelsteen around 19:00. Jacques went vas with a black pylie around 21:00. For the first hour, the fish only ran up and down, and eventually turned at Koei-en-Kalf, with Jacques line running the LEFT of the rock a little way out to sea.
Jaco meanwhile got a Spotted Gulley of 16,6kg, and also a small one of about 1,8kg, and two striped catsharks in 4kg mark. I got a SANDIE on frigate head.
Now it about midnight, and Jacques was into his braid the second time. It was 3H40min. By this time Jacques had tightned up the drag to VAS!! and was pulling with all his worth. He lost the fish about 300m out towards Koei-en-Kalf, when he was cut off in the bricks.
Spoke to him yesterday, and his shoulders and hands were sore!!! Think his reel needs a good service after this.
Wet and cold night, it was, but still had a good laugh at Jacques antics with the big black magic carpet!!

hey, i feel your pain!,,bummer to lose a fish like that, specially after 3hours odd.!had it happen to me too,,, a couple times, there seems to be some rock/reef about 3/400m out to the left of vogels(60k sign), the fish tend to run towards simons town,so you have to run up the cliff to avoid the rocks!!!
better fortunes for next time.:wfish

The oakes that stand that long with oom pyl don't know how to pull them, they must never get a chance to even think about going to lay on the bottom.

For example myself and Where were at Platbankies a while ago and he went tight with oom pyl and 20min later he was out, that one was 100kg!

on Monday morning I went tight with oom pyl and with help from Whaler was landed in 30min we measured and got a weight of 113kg!

@Copper kom saam met ons dan wys ons julle hoe om daai ding te trek!!!!
