Hi all

I started to make my own plastic lures, yipee. Below a photo of my first resin mold, some lures from it and my first bass caught on them.

On my first test run with these I caught a bag of 5.5 kg in 4 hours.

Catching bass is great, catching bass with own lures priceless.

Up to now I've been using old lures. I have just got five liters of Plastisol from a friend. I will find out who's the supplier will let you know.

How did you manage to get such crisp edges on the bodies of especially the first two photos? That is some of the best detail I’ve seen!

I"ve use some molds that I imported from Jann's Netcraft in America. They work really well. Only problem is that they only have limited variety. I am waiting for some aluminium molds from Bass tackle in America (next week) and will post photos of lures from those to compare to the plastic ones.

I am also waiting for some glitter etc.

The transport from the states is just a killer, but what can you do.

Those are truly excellent.. I've only ever seen homemade lures made from moulds that were also homemade. I'm really impressed with the weights... Hw on earth do you make those? What do you use?

Had to look for a way to extend my hobby -- do not get enough time on the water. So next logical thing was to make my own lures.

The weights is powder coated with glitter pre added to the powder paint, then its just a matter of heating and coating. I add a photo of my watermelon red coated weights. Also some photos of my newest colour creations.

Going to Nondoni on 20/4 to test all these bad boys, can't wait.

Ive tried making the resin mould but it failed.
Could you please take me through step by step on how to make it?

Hi

I think you might be adding to much hardner (cracking). I use normal polyester resin with hardner added as for mold making, less than for fibre glass work.

I received three new molds today. I add some photos of baits from them.

Hi all

I just want to add photos of some of the fish we caught on a three day trip to Nonodoni. I fished mostly my own lures on this trip and most of my fish was caught on PALures 6" Curly tail Junebug and PALures 5" Jerk bait Black Blue flake.

Fished weight 3.08 kg, 2.8 kg and 3.52 kg respectively.

Well Guys I have a machine that can make these kind of molds based on computer software. would this be of interest to anyone here as appossed to importing moulds or making your own? Id be very interested in selling moulds if there was enough interest.

I will definitely be interested. Specially if you can make a mould for Zoom 6" Dead ringer and Yamamoto strech 40. Plus obviously some others. Can you give an indication of pricing, etc.

Let's not wait for USA to lead.
