Planning spearfishing trip.

My dad and I are thinking of going on a spearfishing trip somewhere nearish to Cape Town where we could find fish that are not hottentot and has a fairly easy shore dive.

Neither of us are experienced divers and we where just thinking of having a change of scene (underwater).

I was thinking of going to Witsands, i believe the diving is good there.

We will go going in the Easter Holidays.

Any advice please?

There's also Arniston,stilbaai, mosselbaai,Sedgefield ..I'm sure there's loads of spots all along the south coast..unfortunately I haven't really dived any of them properly,but I'm sure with a bit of exploration you can find decent areas
