I don’t know if anyone uses the Perfection loop in the same way as me but I think it makes a good loop connection to hooks or lures. As an alternative to the rapala knot which I find bulky and ugly on thicker lines.
Form a loop in the line as shown:
Slip a hook / lure over the tag end – you might want a bigger first loop to pass a lure through.
Make the second loop in front of the first with the tag end ending up behind the first loop:
Bring the tag end over and in-between the two loops sort of separating them.
Pass the second loop with the hook / lure through the first one
Slowly tighten and pull the whole knot towards the hook eye, adjusting the loop to the required size.
Pull everything tight, trim the tag end to about 5mm and ball it with a small flame to prevent it from slipping through the knot.
It looks perfect, maybe that’s why they call it the Perfection loop? Only difference is the added hook. Usually this knot is only used to form a double line for loop-to-loop connections.
