The chrome plate where the gearing and dog go is also great.
I buff the dog and the chrome with jeweler's paste and brasso until it is shining. Then I punch out the pin that holds the gear onto the post and buff the bottom of that and it gives an incredibly smooth reel.

bud i use diamond guard (yes the car polish) on my spool shaft with a dremel at 20 000rpm's.. std reel from 8 seconds free spool to 55 seconds free spool with a few minutes polishing
whether that makes a difference for casting distance in the real world with bait etc attached is another thing.. but a damn good rush seeing that reel spin so long.

Dang this reel is in prestine condition and well looked after.here she is in great nick still and serviced for tigers on the zambezi. This is in my facebook page also if you want to share.![]()
