Hey All

Long time no see. Im off to pearly beach for the wkend and want to know if you can give me some tips. What sort of fish can we expect(heard that there are steenbras around) and are there any decent inedibles in that area?

Thanks

Hi Nick

Only Galjoen and Steenbras around this time of year - try red bait and mussel. I'm planning on going there next weekend, so expect a report back on Monday.:thankie

A lot of White :sharks around, due to cage diving, but I'll not recommend that you target them - might just be burned off !!

Our club went for a "Spanbou" from the 8th-12th August.
The sea was a bit up but we were able to get a good size steenbra(9.6kg)and some more smaller ones. The fish were hooked at the Uilenskraalmond mouth on the right hand side of the mouth. The guys at Pearly's said that the galjoen are good and the bait .."perlemoen derm" were used.
Die Kelders also good fishing i heard from a friend in Hermanus.

Pearly was very quiet!Too quiet! We fished the whole of saturday and not even a nibble! I tried every bait I know of including red bait, white mussel, prawn, chokka, mackeral, sardine, crab, bloodworm, Even berkley bloodworm! Nothing! Water was awesome, not too rough, nice colour but it was great bieng in the fresh air again!
