left Mosselbay harbor around 2pm.fished all the reefs all the way to Gourits river mouth without much success.changing baits and rigs but to no avail.just seemed to be another one of those days.with an highly agitated boss i turned the boat to go home.on our way back i noticed a few diving birds i decided to give it a bash.i loaded my 8\0 circle with a whole occie leg and did the same with my boss....rods in the holders i went to the front to check the GPS to see where exactly we were...and zzzzzzz my Oceano goes off...didnt get too excited at 1st as i know there are quite a few small shark species around...i pick up the rod and the violent head shakes get my heart racing....about 15mins later the silver shiny body appears in the blue water....landed measured and tagged i wanted to release this magnificent specimen that made my day but she just wouldnt swim off.spent a good hour trying to revive but she was spent.was even more gutted to see she was carrying eggs...pulled the scale to 15kgs on the nose.

thanks lads...still unhappy that i couldnt get her to swim, but like you said casualties of war.my boss has got the fever like mad, looking for his trophy since then.fished the same mark but nothing the very next day.up and down the coast with no sign of them.they must move a hell of a distance in a day or we just missed them everytime.who knows.would still like to get one of those on rock and surf gear,i reckon it will be a totally different story.
