Also at that stage now.... Spoke to Brett at stealth, he says they planning a bit of a social get together in the week before the comp for the guys to network a bit and get to meet their fellow competitors...

Any ideas on when you planning to travel??

Cheers

Probably travel on the Saturday as far as the border.

Sleep over and enter Moz, first thing Sunday morning.

Am concerned as my mates have indicated from a visit 2 weeks ago that the roads are pretty poor and speed limit pulling jetski limited to 80km's which is fairly strictly monitored.

Cheers

Looks like I'm going to pull as far as Maputo on Friday, stay over at a mates place and then we'll go through on Sunday.

So the social/ dinner is confirmed... Monday 18th ..

See everyone there!!

Does anyone know the regulations/procedures to get our Jetskis across the Moz border, what paperwork are they going to need??? Is it the same as our vehicles??

Thanks

yes I have been across loads... you need docs for the trailer i.e Natis clearence such as the log book thingy or if financed a cross border letter from the finance provider. The same applies for the vehicle... you need xborder letter from the bank who in turn require proof of comprehensive insurance across the border. just make sure that the docs for the trailer are in order same as vehicle i.e listed on insurance etc. you can get insurance at AA in musgrave or at the border. obciously you need the towing triangle on the vehicle and the trailer, you are also meant to have ZA stickers but i never but mine on.

If there are going to be 2 drivers make sure they are both listed on SA insurance and Moz insurance NB if other person is driving in Moz and you get caught

What actually happens at the border is wildly different between Ponta, Siteki etc

Hope this helps ..
I phoned the guys re the comp and there is space I am now a bit hesitant because the guy I wanted to go with didnt get the pink ticket and I am not to keen to go alone.. from a driving point of view if a bearing goes or such like it is a mission with no other vehicles around

Cheers

With regard to travelling on your own.

Am hopefully leaving Saturday morning, around 07h30.

Have revised plans to stop over at a place called the Blue Anchor, 50km's past Maputo.

Then complete the balance on Sunday +- 500kms.
