Hey guys not sure if this was discussed before but i always find that i take to many items with me when i am doing a conventional session.  Now i know this might sound a bit silly but i have seen a few guys doing it "always over packing items for the session"

i would like to know of your tips and tricks to packing light and effectively having all your essential items.

eg.  bait and muti bags that can hold everything like....bomb, baits and muti (neatly off course).....a bag that is compact and light weight

Hi Delwyn, its relieving to know i'm not the only one that seems to carry everything when going fishing.

Pack the night before, it helps.

When you bring the tackle back fromn the water, take note what you used and how much of it... Over time you'll get better at packing

Rather to much than to little. If there's space put it in you never know. We've run out of mielie bomb before after having 2 days of frantic fishing. No shops nearby.

I put all my stuff in those plastic black boxes. Think they 30litre capacity. Just sort things together and then lable outside. Also pack easier and neater. I buy fresh mielie bomb before any trip, if left over i store it in my freezer. Keeps it fresh.

But I feel for the guys with normal cars, that use to be me too. But I've been fortunate enough to get a double cab. Still don't know how I use to get everything in!!

Oh crap, I never even realised I'm in the Carp section, lol

I do Light tackle fishing and spinning at Rock & Surf areas where I sometimes trek more than 10km round trip over un-spoilt coast.

In that case you have to pack light and it's important to think about how much water you need to carry with all your tackle for a whole day outing without making the load too heavy
