This dam is full of largies but we now only fish at night on account of a very aggro farmer who almost punched me in the face the first time I tried it in the day.
4inch Berkley worms are the bomb! .... but probably everything works as there are so many fish......... and they're so very hungry!!
Get a friend/wife/girlie to drop you off and pick you up at a designated time . Don't take cell phones in there .....don't use head lamps !! Stealth is what is needed -- not for the fish , but to avoid that aggro farmer and his gang of bully-boys. Walk from the road at the second bend , it's a lot closer and less thorn trees. Be careful not to disturb the bee hives which are not always so easy to see at night. Call it off if they're braaing on that beach ...they all drink like hell and it seems to get them all agitated and they start looking for guys like us in the bush. If the dogs start barking, run like your life depended on it.
But it's really worth it .....it's almost more fun getting in and out in one piece than actually catching those very impressive bass
