Howzit I got 5l of the right stuff to replace my gearcase oil but I need an old applicator to help me along. I'm talking about the plastic bottle with the screw-on attachment. If anyone in CT (closer to me is better) has any of these things lying around, please let me know so we can talk MONEY! OK, I'll give you like R10 or something :)

The SA boat dealers are a bit stingy with these things and different makes of outboard have a different size fitting/drain screw. You used to see the Quicksilver ones for Mercury in the shops, but you battle to find other makes. I asked the place where I bought my boat for one for the evinrude ETEC and the reply from the workshop manager was that they do not sell them as it takes away business from their workshop. With the correct pump that screws onto the oil bottle and the right fitting for your gearcase, any idiot can change g/box oil. I eventually ordered one from the USA as part of a bigger spares order. Works like a dream, no oil spilt etc. Keep hunting. The proprietary brand units are like rocking horse you know what, so you may have to make up your own gadget which is not too difficult.

I bought one of these at our local boat shop, it was a bit expensive (R145)  but it does make the job much easier.

Thats not expensive if you take the amount of oil you spill on the floor without one!!! and its gets used more than once plus you can hire to will101 for R10
