hi Guys,

Went fishing on the weekend at schoemansville oewer club.
Must say i was impressed with how clean the bank was the morning when i arrived at the waters.Fishing was dead quite with not even a single bite insight. At about 10 the morning the water hyacints took over and i wasn't able to get a line in a leave it for more than 10min before the hyacints picked it up.Then all off a suden there were a green sluch for up to about 10m into the water(looked like green paint).I battled it out till abut 14hoo and then decided to call it a day.Hartie 1 and gysbert 0.

I think this is very common currently in harties as i fished De Rust two weeks ago and had the same problem.Luckly the fishing was a lot beter then and i managed to land a few nice carps with a few adjestments and of course some luck.

This will not keep me from harties as the fishing is good.
I will recommend, if you guys are up for the challenge to go and fish harties.

P.s. Remember to take the wader with.

Regards

I know this topic is a bit old but I went fishing at the oewer club yesterday and we caught 30+ carp there most of which were in the 1 - 4 kg weight and my brother got an 8kg catch at around midday so fishing has definitely picked up. was speaking to a guy there who caught 90+ carp over a 4 day period

Turn down at the Wimpy and drive straight to the bottom, that's it you are there, the best place to catch is at day visitors spot. CAST from 20m t0 90m no further plenty 2 to 5 kg carp.Enjoy it.:::S :fishn

Just out of curiousity is this the shoemansviller oewerclub or schoemansville resort?

The resort the oewer club is ridiculous with pricing and hyacinth bothers you there. Look for the old boats at the gate and the containers from where they help the poor.

At the camping spots I had good results at spot 57 and 58 but I camped very little as I lived 4km from there. All depends on wind and hiacyth. The day visitors spot has shade netting and I never had a bad day there. There are very few barbell in harties all have been netted. Not one blue kurper left.
