Okay to use different colours/flavours together?

I want to give my sweetcorn bait a bit more bouyancy. I could not find yellow, but only pink floating foam.
Would that pink stand out too much against 4-5 yellow sweetcorn pips?
Where would be the best position of the floating material on the pips rig?

Can I use different flavoured mielies on the same hair? Or can that chase a fish away?

I must say this speciman angling's got me hooked.
I caught a 8.2kg carp with two Fx tigernuts. I know it is still small, but I will keep on trying.

You will soon figure out combo's that work for you. I usually use natural baits combined with artificials such as corn or fake tigers to balance them when fishing bottom bait Rigs.

The most effective way to ensure your hookbait is presented correctly is to mount your natural bait first and top it off with the artificial on the hair. Use tungsten putty or a splitshot approximately 3 cm from your hook attached to your hooklink material. This will ensure your hook is not lifted off the bottom. Only your hookbait will be presented with neutral buoyancy .

I've watched a lot of dvd's lately. Korda, Crazy carp brothers etc. It seems you can do just what you want. The hair can be short, it can be long, it can come off anywhere on the hook... And they all catch fish.
They just do not really talk much about what flavors or combos of flavors they are using. I suppose some of their knowledge must remain a secret lol.

I am going fishing this weekend. I am going to use plain tigernuts with a piece of round cut pink floating foam, placed between two pieces of half tigernuts.

If I do not get a take in say 3 hours I will swop the plain tigers for FX Tigers.
I will report back what worked best :fst:

This winter I've held out on a 48hr session on fake maize critically balanced ..... caught a 29lb / 30/lb & 35lb

Mentally it drains you because the swim is fed well with 'all sorts' and High Nu Val boilies etc......

In the longterm high nutrition bait is the way to go. Carp will identify these baits as a food source.

Not always easy to condition highly pressured waters due to the variety of baits being introduced. High attraction baits may get you bites initially but if you introduce more baits of better nutritional value the water will see improved catch rates on these baits, also a healthier population of fish which is good for sustainability for the future.

I bought some Pineapple and Sweetcorn boilies in bulk, in those plastic bags. i could not believe it when I opened them. For some reason, the yellow Pineapple and red sweetcorn boilies smelled the same, exactly the same. How that is possible I do not know. How effective they are in baiting, I know even less..
