Okavango Namibia May 2012

[Small boat big fish]

Spend some time with the family at Makena (120 km east of Rundu)at the Okavango in Namibia from 17 to 26 May 2012. Had some excellent fishing.

The water temp dropped from the 24'C at the beginning of May to 19'C at the end of May. Fishing was still good. I did not count the fish. My son caught 15 Nembwe one day. Many tiger fish around.
Most fish caught with double bladed copper spoons (all sizes)and drop shot. Spinner bait (orange/red) also worked if you have the patience...

These days I try to focus on relaxing and letting the kids enjoy the fishing...the situation however can suddenly change. Especially when you've lost the 3rd massive tiger in a row on drift bait.

Well my son is my best fishing partner. Enjoy watching him fish
