Hi Dillon

Tyrell would be able to give you some info on fishing there. We spent 5 days there a few weeks ago but caught nothing, the water was very clear and cold. Hopefully it has warmed a bit.

Dillon it all depends for what you are throwing...

Edible: Galjoen / Cracker - try Brenton on Sea or Buffelsbay

Kob/Steenies if they are around the surf between Brenton and Buffels

You can try the Lagoon also but that is so place specific and I really do not know the Lagoon.

Please advice you target species...

Also visit the tackle shops in Knysna - they gave me excellent advice in December  (which paid off) and they know what's happening in the area.

I will also be there over the long week-end

If the water is up and depending on the wind direction as well as the swell direction you must go and find the sheltered bays... So the beaches will be out. Speak to the tackle shops...

Like the guys said , watch out for that point in Buffs , well there the one in the caravan park , try to fish the westerly side [the nice long gulley on the reefs side Sinkeralley deluxeand very shallow]moving along the rocks on the outside of the bay towards Wildside there a few place you can give a bash , also on the Wild side point close by the backpackers BE EXTREMLY CAREFULL AND RATHER TRY NOT TO FISH INTO THE BIG SWELL RUNNING FROM FISHBOMAH it like Tuna said theres a big swell this is the LAST place you wanna fish due to safety reasons . for a Cracker or Galjoen even redfish , Das hotties . However its not the easiest and safest terrian this goes for both points BE CAREFULL.

should you decice to fish the surf , the river mouth has been good to me in the past both sides , but early this year i went up there and the whole place was sanded up ,but get battered with loads of swell so change often . I have gotten, good size Kobs , Leeries , Steenbras on that stretch certian times of the year . inside the bay toward Brenton is some Good holes where we also have landed a couple on nice Cobs , Elf and toothy critters , the structure there is very nice , sandy beach , with some flat rocky plates in between , and further down nice steep beach , these areas are very safe at night and i have spent nights and nights all alone with NO trouble [except the couple of dronk holiday makers] LOL
The lil slip way you can give a shot but i have only caught Elf there .

Should the fishing be very poor , one can alway pull in at Johans place [ws backpakers] and have a couple of frosties .

my 2 c use it , dont use it .

point you see is the far background is the Wildside point ,like you can see in the fore ground theres a bit of swell running , it can get REALLY big ! i should have some pics of the inside too .

Just keep in mind you should pump worm and prawn elswhere as the Goukamma is a reserve !
