And at Wolfgat,Occie Leg like that gets 'Joe' to eat like this, and end up again looking like this in the safety of my arms, hehe! This bait should have a warning 'Danger' on it! It's a potent bait!

Nice Post,good Bait tip!

I will give that set-up a try. Nice one!

I have a few occie legs still in the freezer for March this year.  Is there a sell by date or will they still be good for bait????

lupo i don't like the bought occie legs.

2ndly if you do get fresh occie legs or even the ones in the tubs... take them out, wrap in newspaper and freeze like that.

3rdly this presentation works brilliant, use mine the same in Gouritz, got hidings.

What i do is i don't clean the occie leg i simply give one or 2 shots with chokka hammer on the dangly bits, and tear the skin off in strips. Having seen occie pieces washed around the rocks a bit this is how they generally look, and the strips of skin attract the peckers who in turn attract the big boys.

Hiya Mouldie,

Another option is the two hook trace, main hook with a sliding skelem hook.

Bought Frozen Occie leg, like from tackle shop, has a tendency to swell once casted in water and swells up,and expands, giving it an almost artificial appearance, and doesn't resemble Occie leg when retrieving.so fresh is best if you can get!

I don't clean mine either, keep it looking natural, don't klap it,but purely thread it on like i would with worm.

I threw the kitchen sink at Wolfgat, every bait immaginable, to entice the fish,and B4 Occie Leg hit water,Cobbie got the Occie wiff, and did some head butt dancing!!!
