Hi All
I have just recently started fishing, mostly at Vygeboom dam 2-3 times a week. I have had some recent succes but I am looking for new spots withing the area as it would be nice to not have to fish in the same place every week.

I know Door De Kraal is open for fishing, but I believe Majik Forest isn't, is that true? I would appreciate any suggestions you guys might have.

Hi Norman

Welcome to Sealine! _seal1_

You can give doordekraal a go as there is some nice fat ones in there. You will need a freshwater licence as well as a permit obtained at the Durbanville Municipality.
Magic forest no fishing is allowed and you will be asked to leave if you try.

Some other dams in the Area:

Klipdam (on a farm close to klipheuwel)
Rutter Road (not sure of water quality)
Hillcrest Quary (Expensive)
Paarl Dam (If you want to become a member)
Misverstand (If you like to travel a bit)
Klien Morewag (Close to Malmesbury although not sure of current condition)

Thank you so much for the information.
I will definitely have a look at Klipdam, never heard of it.
I've actually made contact with the farmer at Morewag which isn't too far from my place.I have also found another spot called La Lancha on Bottelary Road

Yes that dam is also open for fishing.
We call it Klien Bottelary and its mostly known for the bass fishing.
There are some carp in there as well but I havent personally had any success there. Cost is R40 PP to fish :)
