After years of scheming and drooling I can finally start on the road of owning my first Noosa CAT.
My want for a Noosa CAT was never based on facts, recommendations or reviews, as there are very limited information on the internet. It was simply a gut feel based on images
Add to that a company that neither advertise nor attend boat shows, yet manage to produce Noosa CATs non-stop for the last 25 years since taking over Shark CAT, gave me the confidence to pursue my dream boat.
Finally got hold of an old Noosa Cat 1850 Cuddy http://noosacat.com.au/1850/ locally, from up north. Need quite a bit of work to restore to my liking.
The following much inspired by CraigT's Tomcat rebuild
Decided to take the deck off because I saw some water on top of the foam. Started yesterday with the removal of the deck and foam. Between my brother-in-law and myself, we managed quite well and good progress was made. Turned out that most of the water was coming through the deck, but decided to do an entire overhaul of the foam anyway. Will replace all foam with Sondor foam after spraying the interior of the hull with Polyurea. Deck will then be replaced and also sprayed with Polyurea to make it 100% waterproof. Then onto the water for test drives and if everything works out well, start prepping for a total repaint.
