Nice yellow on the vaal

caught this guy a few weeks ago on the vaal. Shad Rap in bleeding olive.

Very nice, may I ask where did you catch it? We tried for largies this weekend at Elgro with no luck!

Hi there.

I'm leaving for the Orange rivier on Saterday "Vioolsdrif". I've been trying to land a Nice Yellow and sizzzzee barber for years now. My questions is what bate should you use for yellows and the river. Ocean fishing is much more simpler than freshwater.

I'm going for a week, so I need to land something for the album. What duppa is the easiest and best to use.

Would appreciate any info.

on the vaal. i found that small crabs are a good bait. also shrimps and flying ants. a guaranteed strike is one of those small river frogs. usualy fish weightless. cast into the stream and let the bait drift with the current into the deeper pools. To do this successfully, u need to wade into the water and fish from there. this allows you to get the bait into the right place. Be alert.
