New Tackle Co Available in SA

Hey all

Not sure if anyone has seen these guys before, but they are primarily a fly fishing company, but also have a great conventional line up, with outfits that would suit the light tackle and dropshotter.

Fantastically made products, designed by some of the worlds best, and the rods are all 4 piece models, meaning they travel well.

Check it out:

ATTN: Moderators - I have nothing to do with these guys, apart from being on their mailing list and interested in their products. If this post is out of line and deemed as "Advertising", please let me know, and I'll remove it.

My intention here is not to push a certain product, but merely to make others aware of what seems to be a great product, and its good to see more variety being made availbel here in this country.

Thanks

Hey man, I guess it would all depend on what sorta plastics you fish and conditions I guess...
I tend to fish slightly heavier than your typical dropshot crowd, using 7' to 8' sticks in the medium power bracket, with ultra fast actions. I also upline my sticks a bit with 20 to 30 pound braid, as I like to fight fish hard and fast and get them back in the water quickly and healthy.
But fishing slightly heavier also enables you to go after the slightly bigger boys swimming out there... I like chasing bigger fish on light tackle, so going to the slightly heavier outfits makes sense to me..

Another great thing about these outfits is that they are all 4 piece, and come with rod tubes which make sthem great to travel with.

In a casting model, matched with a Shimano Calcutta 400 or similar I'd look at the - EC834

On the spinning side of things, matched with a Stella 3000 or similar I'd looks at the - ES7664

And on the Heavier Spinning side, matched to a Stella 6000 or similar, I'd look at something a little longer, with a bit more power, and spool up with 30 to 50lb braid, to chase everything from Kingies, Yellowtail, Garrick and Shad in the bigger/rougher/crowded water as well as doubling as a bait stick for all manner of fish, I'd go with something like the - ES83124 or the heavier but shorter - ES7144H. This rod would make a great artificials boat/ski stick for slinging plugs, poppers, lead heads, jigs and plastics. Its got the back bone to pull good fish away from structure, and handle heavier lures like leadheads and jigs, as well as be able to sling big topwaters a long way...

Hope this helps.
