New spinning reel.

I'm in the market for a new spining reel at the moment and my budget is about R1000. The reel which really has my attention is the Shimano Symetre FJ 2500. I want to use it for Smallmouth fishing, so tubes and grubs, but I also want to use it for Shakey head and salt water dropshot fishing so I'm not sure whether to go for the 3000 or the 2500? If you have an opinion or an experience that would be great. If you know of another reel which would fit the bill, that would also be great. Thanks for the help! Oh, the rod it's going to be put on is a 7'2" MH Crucial, just so that you have a better idea.

Shimano Slade 2500FB R300 for the reel and when it packs up you can just buy another.
This is all I use these days and I have been very happy with them over the last 5 days

I have a Symetre, awesome little reel.

I know someone that is selling his Abu spinning reel, lemme know if you are interested.

Have both the slade and the symetre, No probs with them.   I would advise to go for the higher model thou as you might need the extra drag in the saltwater..... I got the 4500 Symetre for dropshotting in the surf.

Im so stoked, I just got home and have spooled my 2500 Symetre with 8lb flourocarbon and it feels perfect on the rod! The only bummer was the fact that it doesn't come with an extra spool! That's so silly! Anyways, off to fish it...

Thats hat the diffs were with the bigger mod, I got two spools with the 4500........ braid on eth one and fluro on the other.......

Congrats nonetheless, enjoy the outing, report with pics please ?

Hey guy's. Just got back from the Christening trip and my oh my, it seem's like I've got a gem. I don't have much time, but here's a pic of the 2kg carp which I managed to get.
