I heard that August Lingnau has recently broken the S.A record, anyone have more info, where,weight and pics ?

Apparently in Natal somewhere ....

That's a once in a life time catch. Nice guy as well from what I've read on the other forums. I wonder if it will stand as the new record.

August caught it on a Strike King Red Eye Shad at Bloemhoek dam outside Kroonstad. Its a dam about the size of Boskop. Very difficult...almost impossible to launch a boat at the venue. They used a tractor. Dam is trawling motor only.

It was caught on on 12lb Berkley Trilene 100% fluorocarbon (not 10lb as in the book)

Both current Bass magazines for December are carrying the story. SA Bass has August on the cover.

He used a Quantum Tour KVD Cranking rod and Quantum Accurist 500 PT Reel
