New rods

Hi Everyone!

Do anyone know if it necesary to break in a new rod? If so, does the process differ from fast to slow rods?

Of corse..... This is what you do:
1) Pack the car
2) Get down to the dam, lake, river, spot of your choosing
3) Most important step, START FISHING WITH THEM!
4) Let all of us here on Sealine know how they performed and send pics of your catches. (Remember to have the rod in 1 or 2 of the pics!)

If anything happens to your rods take them back and change them for new ones! I had 2 brand new 10' sensation power sticks break on me on the first cast each time. I just took them back and was given a new one.

What rods did you get?

Sensation Bazooka 12'. Apparently they can cast a mile... Can't wait to test them!

Naruto- I dont think you have to " break in the rod " but rather the guy behind it, practice with it untill you know what your best style. weight size, bait size, drop length etc to fully load it and use it to its full potential.

I bought the 10' Sensation power cast and so far so good. No problems yet.

I have a pair of sensation carp hunters, but they are a bit soft after comparing with the bazookas

My mistake. Sorry. I also got the carp hunter. It is very soft yes , but my wife uses it and she's happy. I used it a few times. Not bad at all.

The difference between the carp hunter and the bazooka is that the carp hunter is only about 20% graphite and the bazooka is 100% if im not mistaking so the bazooka has much more backbone for casting.

That is true, the carp hunter is only graphite re-inforced in butt...lol! But take shimano alivio rods 3lbs tc, they are also full graphite but not as stiff as the bazookas.
