While Sealine forum was broken, i went out and invested some cash in a new boat (but second hand). Now the GF + Buddies can bass with me, dry, and easy.

 

Im super amped on it, and i have taken it out a few times with Mr Riaankie(Riaan_The_Legend) and once with the GF.

 

Can anyone suggest any mods for this type of boat? Any pictures would be LEGEND!! And nice locations to use this puppy more often would be nice too.

HEHE sooner rather than later this forum will have to bow to the dominance of the Intex Mariner 400 clan::S we're a couple of proud owners already......... and very happy ones toooooo.

You can install a live-well, coolbox style, seating plnks over the rear, mid and front sections, fishfinder mounted on the planks mentioned, oh and my personal fav, the Dillion Areo Tri-Gattling gun, optional if you don't stay in GP but a must if you do!

 Will see if I can scrounge the pics of these conversions/add-ons/mods etc.

Congrats on the best investment for the money you you've spent, just know that this is probably the best way to get really close to them LGF's and all while you're relaxing your B-hind off as the speed doesn't allow you to get ancious (haven't splelled that word in a while).

I had the same boat. get yourself 2 storage containers, like 40/60 liters then use then for packing and seats.
After this boat you are gonna itch for a bass boat, i bought myself one now

Raaaaaaaaaadest boat ever. Best investment ever. Most fun ever. Most compact practical boat ever. And when global warming hits one day and all the others are swimming, at least we have a way to get around! Ooh the mod i am going to do is put 25mm thick high density foam on the floor of the boat to make it more comfortable and help spread the fisherman's load better My GF and I can stand comfortably and fish. Takes some getting used to tho.

hey hey hey! ..you won't be sorry about that boat! ... had mine for about 2 months now, and I LOVE it! ... hmmm ...photos about the mods ...now there's an idea ..I haven't taken any photos yet ....think I'll do it this evening ... my mods so far ... black ADIS box to put my gear in ... attached to ADIS box is 4 rod holders and on top of it is the fishfinder ... for a seat, I have those low sitting fold-up chairs (the ones people sometimes use to sit on the beach and tan) .. on the chair, I've even got a holder for an umbrella ... MAN there are so many things you can do with it! ...you're gonna LOVE it! ....I think at some stage we must have a MARINER get together ...heheheeee

A mod I did on mine was to get a Red oak plank about 30cm wide and 1.2m long, sanded it down smooth and varnished it, then mounted the fish finder bracket on it.
It goes at the back over the battery and works as a comfortable seat for the driver and a place to put the fish finder.

The boat is the greatest thing ever. I wana take it on it 1st big/proper mission soon soon, to eikenhof or the breede river or sumin.

Picture of add ons and all will be legend, and i will add pics too...when i do them.

I was thinking of making a rod holder on the outside of the boat. IDEA: attatch a small piece PVC pipe (thick enough to fit the butt of the rod in easily) to the rope that goes round the boat. Then for the front of the rod, attach some velcro to the rope that goes around the boat.

So its easy to stick the butt of the rod in the PVC pipe then strap the velcro to the end/middle of the rod. and quick to pull it out of this position.

I had both the mariner and a bass boat....lets put it this way ive got the mariner and sold the bass boat, you really cant beat it...

Can’t believe that an inflatable like this could beat a steady, stable bass boat

If u pump this puppy up enough, it is very stable!!

Myself and Riaan_The_Legend standing and fishing with no problems the other day. With the standard floor too.

BTW the foam idea is a beauty, and i am going to try get some too.

Awehness!! Where abouts do u get this foam, and how much $ we looking at? Should we meet in a dark alley way outside a foam factory in Woodstock?
