so last week Saturday after work, i had an urge to go fish a little. On my way home with my friend and work colleague i suggested that we get away from the woman back home and go fish for the rest of the weekend. told him about my new watering hole and the nice carp hanging around ready to be caught. He wanted to go so badly but told me that he is a bit low on cash. I then told him not to worry about it and that everything is on me. he still didn't want to bite on it. so i dropped him of at home. needless to say 30 minutes later he phoned and asked me to come and get him, he wants to go fish with me. So i packed all my gear and went to him and loaded all his gear and off we went. Got to the watering hole with water cleaner than the water coming from your tap at home, no rocks or grass in the water, just sand (ohh so beautiful). first thing we did is rig our lines and started slingering pap. after all that is what we are there for.
We then proceded to set up camp. and this boys and girls is proper camping, there is no electricity to make things comfortable (the reason why the woman was left at home). each had a whiskey and so on and talking about the crap of the world and all the places that we would like to go fish.
After good while of talking and laughing and cracking jokes the first line started running, now manne en maninne this was a big one. the rod bent like a hose pipe and i could see my friends face go red as he was struggling with the bad boy. after 5 minutes of trying to get it to tire out he lost the fish. all sad and depressed i pore him another whiskey and told him to just relax. he will get his fish.
Boy was i wrong. the rest of the evening was dead as a mossie in thunderstorm. aound 02:00 the morning he decided he will turn in and close his eyes. i still sat up until probably 03:15 before i decided to to turn in as well.
not to long after that i heard the loudest of buzzing in my ear and i realized that it is infact a line screaming . i jumped out of my tent and woke my friend up as it was once again his line that was running. i kapped it in the mean time untill he arrived to come take over. it was a good size as well coming in at 6.2kg. hauled it out with a tigernut that i cant even say what the flavor is anymore(yes it is that old but it worked). took it out, made a happy moment on the camera, and releazsed back into the wild. minutes after that things got insane as the rest of the 4 lines started hauling ass into the dam. another 3 caught from the 4 as one got loose again.
Baits used:
Super cast mielie bom (with a tot of Whiskey in).
Banjo floats dipped in some more Banjo
Plain yellow floats dipped in Bloekom.

sorry about the long story. but thats how i cast. have to have atleast a decent story with the happy snaps.
