The lure weighs around 25g and is 8cm in length. Its target species is bass. It works nicely with a slow and fast retrieve and runs straight. It has a crazy wriggle which I think will work. Its ballasted and doesnt float on its side. I am pretty satisfied whith this one

Lyk baie goed.

Het jy 'n klein kurpertjie probeer naboots? Jy kan selfs 'n paar verskillende kleure gebruik om verskillende baitfish spesies te match.

Daai glitter verf gaan beslis die lure 'n lekker flash gee as dit wobble.

Cheers

Looks great.

I just have one concern. Do you use the little brass screw in type rings or is it a single bended wire holding the hooks and line rings?

Thanx, I use screw in rings. I was also concerned that they would tear out but I've had no problems yet and have caught big bass on them, but I know their not ideal.

I tested these eyes and found that a force of about 14kgs(on a scale) tears them out of soft wood, but it also depends on the screw tread length and wood your using (in my case poplar) . Many freshwater bait-builders use these eyes even for fish such as pike and musky that are quite big. So for bass they are okay.

Except when Mr Whiskers hit's it then you going to need a new ring and hook.

Really good looking lure but I would suggest upping the stakes and making the through wire eyes for the hooks as a next step in the evolution of your guides.

You can get a neat starter airbrush for under R150 at builders warehouse (up to R600 for the top range ones)

They even have small piston compressors for airbrushes.

I will def be using through-wire construction in the future and I'm saving up for a nice airbrush! Thanx for the comment!
