Nembwe are caught in Kavango River & Okavango delta. I need help !! I can't get the Deep Runnin Rattlin Fatraps (Crawdad design) anymore which have been the chosen lure - no longer made. Any members who can guide me as to effective alternative lures (plugs) or spinner baits - really apppreciate some guidance. I'm going again in Sept.

Nchena,

The best lure will be small mepps and effzzet spinners, but real kariba worms will still be the best for them.

Fill out your profile so that we can see where youre from. There is a guy in Krugersdorp that still have some Deep Runnin Rattlin Fatraps left of his last order before they stopped making them...

You could also try a place called Western Accesories in Boksburg just off North Rand Road, kwadrupplekazillions of lures, I'm sure they'll still have them deep running ratlin fatraps, give them a visit, but please never ever blame me for introducing you to a store where you'll probably spend a whole lot more on fishing tackle than you ever thought you would, that place is just far TOOO NICE to shop at, eish, been there four times in the last month with bill walking out the door in excess of R1200 each time.......... don't let da boss know this plz? otherwise this will be the last anybody will ever hear of me (alive)......

Skaap Tjop - great news and tks for the response. Can you let me know who the Krugersdorp outlet is ? I'd really like to find out what Rapala rattlin fatraps he has. To be honest I've never tried worms for nembwe because of the small tiger worms attract - but when all else fails.....

As per nudge I have completed my profile.

Abdul at Western Accesories Krugersdorp.

He keeps it in his store room at the back, so if you dont see it on display just ask him and he'll help you, but I think it is the original fatraps, the rattlin fatraps is very hard to find.

Cheers

Nchena,

Welcome to the forum!

You can also use plastic frogs, the sinking variety. Wave Worms make them in several colours, but any colour will work. Drop it into a hole, and BAM!! you're on.

Enjoy my part of the world
