Navionics Card

Can anybody tell me if I should get a navigation card. Reason I ask is that on my Lowrance Chirp it has GPS and it shows up the fish pretty well. Not sure what the card does?
I live in Jo'burg and often go the the Vaal River and Dam and only occasionally the coast.

Def needed. Misplaced my card the other day while downloading my tracks on another card.

Went out without it and it showed me driving over land without the card.

Need to get a new one but not cheap. Shame one can't backup these cards

If you're not using the charts much, you can also download the charts onto your phone or tablet from Navionics. It's a lot cheaper than buying the card.

Haha that's not going to work well if I am targeting fish. Seems I better get one
