well what can i say?only the truth!mozambique is a dissaster!never go there!so so so dispntd.well the trip started off all going well till we hit maputo.driving in town on a road thats got like six lanes of traffic!i mean come on, theres no co-ordination there.well we get pulled off by a bukkie load of cops.they ask my dad for his licence so we give him the fake copy so this owes a little clever and can tell,so we give him the original and he puts it in his pocket and walks to the boat and asks my dad to fllow him.now its just me and my mom in the car,i hear them asking my dad for money,so i said to hell with this and get out,as i approach my bullie the 1 cop jabs a AK47 in my ribs and says get back in the car,so i chuned the guy whats the matter,he says get in the car.my dad was boiling at this stage,so he aksed how much they want,they say R1500,for me not earing a safety belt-IN THE BACK OF THE CAR-and R500 for me stepping out the vechile.we got away with R1000.or we would have still been there unpacking the boat and crap.
these owes must be clever!at the next control post they stopped us,obviously they radio each other to stop us.we had to pay R500 for not putting our emergency indicators on when we were pulled over.note that theres like millions of overloaded vechiles passing us, speeding vechiles,trucks with coco-nuts overloaded with goats strapped right on top.:headbwe get stopped again like 5km up,this is at like mid day madness,they want us to pay another fine for speeding,um hello?wheres the proof?i ask with tears in my eyes?how can we be speeding on a road that can just take 2 cars on each side and with pot holes the size of the titanic?and we towing a boat!
enough of that,we stopped at our half way stop the blue anchor inn.guys if you go up there do yourselves a favor and stay over.hospitality is so warm.great people running it and they showed us how to handle the mozambican police.
next day we hit the road very early to avoid the police,buses and trucks.we arrived at our destination Paradise view.apart from climbing a million steps to get to our house it was great.fortunatley there was dstv in the house so we could watch the world cup!:dapp: when we got there the sea was on its head on friday,so we prepared ourselves for the next day to go out.sat was bad no fishing.sunday bad no fishing.monday no fishing,the sea was really kak,at this stage all we did was watch tv and chill in the pool on our deck cos with cold fronts paains us during the nights the sea was wild during te day but slowly coming right.wednesday we got the boat down,sea was still huge but with only 2 days lefty in mozzi we said lets do it,we got through mid break then had to circle for ever waiting for a gap,we couldnt get out,with swells that big and running right on top of each other its quite scary!so we went back in.next day sea was even bigger,my dad was fed up!we waited for the high tide and put the boat in the water,sea was huge huge huge but we had to wet a line,we ran up and down that channel waiting for a break till we saw the chance and got out luckily!we were the only guys who got out that week,as we were going out we saw birds,wind pumping,i threw my onde onde hooked 3 bonnies.trawled rapalas-nothing for an hour,trawled half beaks nothing,with only 1 tank left we had to come back.friday morning we came back to sa,yo were we happy to see sa.sa was better than mozambique,went diving and got 3 garrick and a couple crays.never ever go to mozambique in your own vechile.rather fly.cheers.photos will come.
