I have a Gamefish 430 ( Alley Cat 440 ) forward console that I want to sell...it has only been in the water twice.
Give me a call if you are interested...it is posted with pics under boats for sale.
The Komassi Craft 520 is built in Port Elizabeth...its a 17 footer and runs VERY well with just 2 x 40'S

Sorry I may of misunderstood your letter on Sealine.
As you own a Komassicraft 520 ...My question....what do you think of the boat.
Everyone I have spoken to speaks very highly of them, stable platform, can take the rough and run's well with just 2 x 40's.
I have bought the center console but they are replacing the center console with a wrap around Charriot Console...it gives you more shelter....the first one that they are going to build...it was my idea as they have bought all the Supercat moulds from A & G Marine in Port Alfred and amongst the moulds was a Charriot console...it fits perfectly and they are going to marry up the front seat box hatch to the front of the charriot console...it will therefore ( hopefully ) be a lot drier in rough water when you sometimes get a lot of splash.
Please let me know what you think of the boat or maybe any advice that will be useful...
PS...I am not fitting outmounts.

I have also just bought a Komassi Craft...they are built in Port Elizabeth...the factory is in the harbour...these guys are big manufacturers of boats and they are now also building the Butt Cat...some sort of agreement with Butt Cat.
Supreme Craft closed down and Komassi Craft baught all the Supreme Craft moulds as well to add to their model range which is now substantial.
If you are interested in Komassi Craft or Supreme Craft then go and buy direct from them..that is what I did.
The contact number is 0825559797...speak to Tillman...great guy.
Tell Tillman that Cliff Donaldson referred you to him.
They will build you a boat to your requirements....change the layout to suit your exact requirements.
The one I have ordered is going to be fitted with a wrap around Charriot Console...it give much better shelter in rough water....they are marrying a Supremecraft console to the Komassi Craft for me and it means that 3 guys are sheltered behind the wrap around console...simelar to the Supreme Craft 620 deck layout.
It gives you about 200 mm clearance on the sides to walk around to the front deck.

I am super stoked with my boat. She runs expremely well both in the rivers and out at sea. Yes I have 2x 40 hp and she runs so smooth and have not had any problems.
I would tend to agree with you about the out mounts, personal opinion, not a fan of them.
Your console idea sounds really good. Once it is complete please would you let me know I would love to take a look.

I am please to hear that you are happy with your boat...and yes I also agree that the outmounts are not a turn on for me although they do offer a person a bit more deck space.
Those boats that I have seen with outmounts fitted all have seperation / cracks at the top where the motors hang...I pointed this out to Komassi Craft and they assured me that they have addressed the problem, but my thinking is that motors that hang on a transom are a lot more secure in terms of flexing...a transom will not bend as much if one hits a beach as the dynamic forces on outmounts will be greater.
The boat that I have at present is great, but I just wanted a boat with a bigger platform which will allow me to venture further...
I am also a member of PEDSAC....a great club and one of the main reasons I joined them is that I am now a sprightly naughty old man of 62...still full of S##t, naughty as hell and I love my fishing.
My next door neighbour is also my age he is also a die hard angler and we trundle off to PEDSAC during the week, launch the boat and off we go....
The main reason I joined PEDSAC is because of the safer more sheltered launch...Noordhoek is a bit scary with the rocks and underwater reef that has claimed many a gearbox and probably thousands of props.
I also dont want to put my vehicle in the sand to launch.
Last week we got stuck into the Geelbek...caught 7 over 700 mm ( released 3 ) and we also returned a lot of undersized ones....it was Last saturday when the Stock Fish Derby was on...we did not enter.
I have a lot of weigh points on my GPS but use it more to get to the spot and then I use my fish finder to narrow down where the fish are.
I have always liked the Supreme Craft with the center wrap around Charriot console as it gives a lot of added protection from spray in choppy water...now my buddy and I or for that matter 3 of us can shelter behind the Charriot console if heading out or returning to harbour.
I see that you have 40 hp Mercs on your boat .... good one...nothing wrong with them...just don't over rev them...I heard that they like to drop reed valves if they over rev.
I have 2 x 40 HP - Yamaha XWTL's that I am moving over to the Komassi Craft...with trim and tilt...they are more the commercial type of motor...hard as nails...2 cylinder big bore and they have more grunt that the 3 Cylinders...I know...I used to have the Yammie 3 Cyl on my Interceptor cabin boat and then changed to the 2 cylinder with trim and tilt.
They are great...basic motor...2 cylinder...1 carburettor.
We go out to the islands, then out about 6 km to Evans Peak...then we trawl along the Sundays river mouth area...back to the islands, then to Coega harbour...trawl for Leerie and Elf up and down the harbour wall and then back to P.E. harbour and we use less than a tank of gas per motor.
Anyhow...before I waffel on to much and keep you out of your work ( I am early retired - sold my company 2 years ago )

Only a pleasure, I hope that the info I gave you will be helpful...at at least now you can go direct...Most dealers put on such abig mark up that it makes the boat very costly...I know that I saved a lot by buying direct...
I am handy with my hands and I do a lot of the fitting and kitting out myself on any boat that I buy.... I have been doing it for years as I used to be in the boating game...I fit my own motors, steering, Nav. lights, live bait well pumps, antennas etc etc and I wire up everything myself.
Get hold of a company in Durban, called Accessories and Spares ... you can source just about any boat fitting from them but DONT buy their Hydraulic steering...its not good quality.
100 Met of soft white anchor rope from them is under R 200...local is R 500 for what looks like the same thing...
I bought a bilge pump from them for my live bait well...it was under R 100 and the one sold locally is + - R 350...phew..a big saving.
I have their catelogue here at home and it's substantial.
I know the Witblitz..bought one some months ago and sold it the first week that I had it...it was ariver version and had a single 30 hp yammie on it and it went like the clappers....
I would not buy the sea going version though, to wet and lig in die broek and bounces to much in rough water.
Believe it or not... I am actually a naughty / active 62 year old that loves his fishing...people think I am mad to still want to buy boats and go off deep sea fishing...but life is for living and fishing is my passion...even if I land nothing...I caught a wonderful days outing.
I retired at the age of 60 when I sold my business/s and now it's my time to go and enjoy my pastime.
Yes...when I take delivery on my new boat I will definately post a few pic's of her on the site...hopefully my idea of the wrap around Charriot console will be a winner...the difference in weight on the boat is about + 25 kg...and the wrap around Charriot console can hold 6 fuel tanks....carn't wait...luckily I already have a boat that I can use until the new one is delivered.
PS...if ever you need a trailer built I can organise it far cheaper....lisenced and road worthied.

Thanks cliff you right about the Witblits being wet VERY VERY wet mine is one with 2*25hp and goes very well what i like about it is its so easy to tow,launch and manouver(spelling)the other reason i baught it is because its an all round boat i can use it for LTB,bass,tiger,estuary fishing and maybe go out to sea when its calm but i use it for inland LTB so its actualy a pleasure as its only me and the wife so no problem towing and launching and the motors are very economical.(times are getting tuff)but one day i would love to get a Kamassi or a 520C/C anyway Tight lines

Well my new KC 520 with the charriot console is finished at laaaaast...new motors are fitted ( 2 x 60 Big Foots ) and all rigged out...
Just taken her to my sons work to have the mudguards fitted to the trailer...then PEDSAC safety...then away we go....I also have to bring the boat home and measure the clearance between the console and my garage door so they can still fit the windscreen...it will just give that finishing touch.
The boat came out very well and I am to say the least very chaffed...just hope that the Bigfoots with the heavier console and rear hatch dont drop the boat to deep in the water at the back...my only worry.

Got some really nice Kob about three weeks ago off the Good Sheds, one being about 14 kg's. Tag and realised all 12 of them apart for one that came home for the Weber.
