My first yellow : Vaal river

Hi there

I had the opportunity to go with a few friends to fish the Vaal river over the weekend. Drove over 150km from Newcastle to reach our destination (Morgansville?) Rods were in the water at around 6:30am. The trip was brilliant ! Beginners luck I guess , as I caught the "largest" yellow for the day. Used traditional dough as bait. All fish for the day were released , except for 2 big Carp !

Yellows are very nice fish to catch, you may also want to investigate catching them on lures which is a different sensation !

Mooi geelvis, was daar sterk stroom gewees in die rivier? As daai outjie vasvat vat hy met mening.

Hi there

The portion of the river we fished in was very calm. The yellow in the picture gave a good showing and managed to make my drag open with gusto. Im hooked !
