My bit for Conservation

During November I phoned the local conservation guys twice about people catching shad our of season on the Struisbaai harbour wall, the one group of 4 guys had about fifty shad between them, and the next lot a cople of nights later about 20 mostly undersized.Having phoned the "conversation people" with the details as well as the registration numbers of the vechiles I waited for about half an hour each time and left in disgust.

I sometimes just "givwe up" but know that wrong. To who did you send this Chris as I dont see the adresse?

I didn't send it to any1. I gave it to 1 of the officers there at the time. The chief knows about the letter, cos I talked to Him a week ago and told Him my plans. He said that I should write a letter so they can forward it to H/Office.
I was told that this officer I gave it to yesterday, is very passionate about conservation. So with He’s support / recommendation, I can’t see that H/Office wouldn’t do anything.
I told the chief that I don’t what to send this to the papers, and add that Marine conservation is ignoring my request.
Ps. You know if you can’t do it yourself, then get the people that can, to do what you want. Just something life taught me.

Hi guys, my congrats on your views and efforts. I hate to be negative, but I do not think it will achieve much. I say this because I am "inside" and my running battles with the top dogs amount to nothing. Even my approaches to the organised angling fraternity have not born much success. I think the only way to get reaction is to use the existing laws to force officialdom into some action, and believe me there are many legal provisions for this. Witness the National Environmental Management Act, 1998, the Promotion of Administrative Justice Act, 2000 etc.

MIGHT AS WELL STOP PAYING OUR FISHING LICENCE FEES CAUSE WE AINT GOING TO ACHIEVE ANYTHING WITHOUT A STAND TOGETHER STRUGGLE AGAINST A NON TRANSPARRENT LICENCE SYSTEM THAT WE ARE FUNDING.TRY AND GO TO THE GOVERNMENT FOR ASSISTANCE...YOU'LL NEED 2026 REASONS WHY.....TRIED ...HAVE TRIPLET DAUGHTERS THAT OCCURED TOTALY NATURALY WITHOUT ANY FORM OF FERTILITY DRUGS......THE GOVERNMENT IN OTHER COUNTRY'S HAVE HUGE FUNDING FACILITIES FOR THIS TYPE OF THING.
