I've been following this thread with great interest and also intend building my own BomKannon.
On watching a number of posts on you tube, I see that they all use PVC Primer before they apply the PVC Weld, and then apply the PVC Weld liberally to both surfaces before joining them, this could probably solve any leak problems you may have in the pvc joins.

Geagte Boeties,
8 years ago I was tending my sick dad in Jeffries Baai. During an evening stroll on the beach all walkers were shocked to hear a 35mm cannon go off!! All us ex kaki guys dropped down to our knees, then slowing peered over the dunes edge. A skelm of a teenager had a whopping great what ever it was. Three of us runover to investigate. Us fellas light on the head hair were told the latest craze was patato and pumpkin guns? Later back in Auss. I looked into the systems and liked the golfball system as an intrudrer defence gadgit.
Seeing the serious long distance surf casting was becoming an issue I planned to upgrade the potato gun. I had the idea off frozen bait shells to patent stage on paper, then family issues shelved the idea. Now products are on the market! Like Yankie BUF.
Procrastination got the better of me. I salute you go getters! Doers.
Bait balls for carp in Europe are netted in PVC systems by Korda.
