My 3 year old son catching his first Bass

So I bought my 3yr old son a new combo rod and reel. Took him to a private complex dam to show him how to cast his new rod...lol

Then the slow retrieval method were practiced!

And fish on Daddy. The expression on his face and the words that followed, jus dis n groooooot vis!!! will never be forgotten by me! He held onto the rod and reeled like there's no tomorrow!

And the 1 st reward!

after that according to him its very tiring lol, but he got 3 Bass in 2 hours! The best fishing trip with my son eva!!

And the last one before I called it a day, was his bedtime and he was complaining about me not bringing any food to eat..hahahaha It was supposed to be a casting teaching trip but never thought he will actually catch 3 nice sizers!

Iggy, that is good catch for the young angler. Maybe without the EVA foam and having plate type reel seat will be more ergonomic for your son to handle.

Thx everyone. He is hooked for sure. Keep asking when we going to catch "groottes" again..lol. I'm impressed at how quick he got the casting to grips. The big task ahead is to teach him patients when I take him carp fishing again ( His pb stands at 5kg in the same little pond we fish for bass )and convincing him that the fish doesn't bite When he caught the 5kg carp the hook pricked my thumb when I removed it and bled a little, hence the fear that they bite!

Lekker Iggy, so rewarding taking the little ones out and then having catch something.... took my two out to a farm dam nearby before winter and watched my 2 and1/2 year old catch his first bass, a real natural.
