Hi guys.Im new. I live in the u.k. Ive been checking out the prices of some reels here and in europe. Its much cheaper than in S.A. For instance,a saltiga 50 cost around R3500 with p & p(frm the us),daiwa ishidai z40 will cost around R6500.I just bought a shimano tld 20/40 for around R300 and a torium30 (R1257)from Denmark. If you guys wana take advantage of this situation, let me know and i will post websites and links on how to get these increadible prices.Alternatively you can go onto ebay.com and check out some prices from the ebay shops.put your address as south africa and it will calculte how much shipping will be.

Can someone also tell me how much a purglas 400/6 or 400/7 costs in s.a?

b.t.w how is tongaat and ballito fishing after those freak waves?

kind regards

Hi Razeen,

I must question that Saltiga price you quoted. I bought a Saltiga 50 two months ago from the cheapest shop in Durban and paid R3800 (including discount). Average retail price in Durbs is R4100. If you can get these reels for R3000, please let me know where and I will buy another two!!

Cheers

You right R4100 i was thinking of the Saltiga 30 for R3000. That was the price about 3 weeks ago. But R300 extra to buy it here is not an issue , because what happens when the reel needs to be repaired under warranty. you have to ship it back there and back to S.A again. So in my opinion its not cheap, if it was like R1000 less, then i would say ok

I think those rods are generally about R1000 +-. I wuld then rather have a custom made rod built for about the same price.
