Yes and it is very safe at the dam too, haven't had any of my gear stolen at the fishing camp... Wish people can go fish there more often it is good water but it is very shallow before it gets deep

which side do you fish. I only know about Lake wiew & the place next door. I also heard that the farm just before lake wiew is also available privately.

I used to be a regular at klipdrift (old setlers dam).
I will tell you that at lakeview only a bait boat will do the trick as at 130m from the shore there the bigger fish are , the place next door gets deeper faster.

Please note that klipdrift is a fruit dam , try using all fruit flavours first.

Old recipe for klipdrift take a glass bottle , fill it with raisens add a bottle 50 ml moirs caramel/ vanilla essesnce ( no water) leave 2 days for the raisens to drink up the essence and go fish. They don't come off.

For barbel if plattie not available . Use a trace hook a liver on it wrap it in pets mince ( try to find without fat) and freaze . On arrival just chuck it in youl have your own feeding spot there.

Muddies and carp also love sticky runny dough wrapped like a worm on the hook .

I am sorry for the late reply, I usually fish at the Lake view side, nd there is a path to the dam through a farm, haven't tried fishing there but I'm sure there has to be big fish in that area as no one fished there before.

Just follow the road past lakeview . Turn left at the T-junction you see a board showing fishing on the fence turn in there m good place for fishing , not bad priced either .

Yes "die oorloop" I fished there when I didn't have a bait boat now I fish lake view to go deep and it does produce, at the oorloop there are mostly a lot of pple there

what are the facilities like. with the family i need a pool atleast, but if its just for the guys we still need clean toilets.

Toilets are clean clean , soos in silwer skoon... But there arnt pools at the oorloop only at lakeview

so is oorloop is the place next to Lakeview. then its fine to go there even with the boys because they will soma swim in the dam. all girl children will have to stay at home.

on the other hand, on the far right at Lake view, closest to next resort-is it also a bit deeper.

Its shallow every where close to the bank... But at the oorloop most people walk in to cast, u should try it

Dip SWD wat met dam water gemeng is in Almond en Aniseed.

Ek was die naweek by Klipdrift en het nie baie gevang nie maar als wat uitgekom het was mooi karps. Skoon en gesonde Karps.

Kleinste vangste was 3,4Kg en Grootste 5,4Kg.

Mense wat 2 stands van my af gesit het, het n 10,2Kg gevang so 02:00 Saterdag oggend.

Ek het 03:30 Saterdag oggend n stewige een gehak en kon voel hy is lekker groot maar  hy het weggekom.

Die 10,2 Kg was gevang op SWD.

Ek sal beslis weer Klipdrift gaan vang.
