MONSTER SHAD

my friend zane got this shad last night at the block, port shepstone..fishing for the average size shad when this guy came along....what a fight on light tackle!!!

Bus shad,well done to the angler, the heads and guts would make for a lekka slide bait, it's time to clap the shad. Tomorrow I'm buying some spoons:SSS

Great stuff. Nice to see the big ones are around. Caught a similar one some time ago. 6kg.

What was the weight of that one?

Well done ZANE.
They don't come around often.
I cought mine at Wesbrook beach at my folks place. It was bad weather and I was casting a pink and purple plug when my monster took the plug and headed out to sea. 20 min later it was on the beach. It was 97 cm and weighed just under 13 kg's. It's on my wall in my BAR and I can look at it every night. :wfish

The pic's are MIA but I can take a picture of me holding the replica I had made for my pub. Even today when I get back from fishing with a few shad of size for the table my wife still thinks they a small. Chicks don't understand "once in a lifetime fish"
