Midmar Dam

Hi there
I know the dam a little. Although i don't have the GPS co Ordinates of any spots there are a few spots which i have caught some good fish off in the past.
If launching from the yacht club and you are facing the water then go left (away from the wall) till you see some dead trees sticking out of the water (it is in the main section and not in the tonnes of little bays that are around). Once at those trees on the banks on your right have worked and if you make your way along that bank you will get to a VERY rocky point which opens to a new bay. This point has been productive for me. Also the rocky areas around the wall should produce, there is a fence going into the water on the yacht club side in this area which should hold a fish or two (obviously stay on the safe side of the bouy line at the wall). Please note, i have heard from some well known TOP locals in the area that the fish at Inanada are only now moving on to the nests, so Midmar will still be in Pre Spawn with some males up in the shallows. Focus on the points of the bays and fish between 10-20 feet as i think that where most of those BIG fat girls will be hanging around. Hope that helps...

I too caught something, but it was no :f1shy it was a 4,88 . drum rolling ttrrrrrrrrrrrr trrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr trrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Dussssshhhh yes ladies and gents it was e-mermaid, so yes you can get them to bite although it ain't as easy as it was a couple of weeks ago:temp:

OI me don't have anything against any mer-people, it's just that the fresh water mer's, don't have blond hair and a pair of d-cups on their torso's.....

True, true, they are some serious fun 2 catch and they do tend to drag DADUCKY around the pond sometimes with real tanacity, but the problem is, 1 mermaid, and no :f1shy:cry1, I don't mind hooking them, actually it's great but, it would be nice to go home and say I caught 1 :f1shy and 1 :merm(without boobs, and blond hair
), but to go home with 1 :merm as a total of :shark caught when I went out :uzi:f1shy's now that is sumthin else.... worst of all is I could see them :temp::cens:f1shy's and sight :uzited, but to no avail.......

Went to the dam on Saturday afternoon, without a rod (the weather was bleak).
When you enter through the main entrance, bear right and head for the ski boat part of the dam. You will see a spot where the tree line runs into the dam. A fire has come through it and quite a few of the trees are now lying horizontal in the water. Definitely worth a look.
