Middelburg Dam (Pienaarsdam)

Hi all

Has anyone fished Middelburg Dam recently I think it is called Pienaars dam now. If so do you have any advise concerning baits and prices.

Hi Guys

Middelburg dam of Rondeboschdam is die groot dam op die ou Belfastdam. Die pryse het ek op n' ander thread by jetskis gesit want ons het hierdie naweek n' Sealine jetski byeenkoms daar. Pienaardam is by Middelburg maar jy draai die Bethal Fonteinstraat afrit na Bethal en omtrent 200 meter na die snelweg draai jy links af na die dam. Dit is in private besit maar jy kan ook daar kamp en visvang.

I fished Pienaardam about 2 years ago. Very beautiful venue, but the resort bank can be a little tough. I struggled for 2 days solid to land a single carp. I eventually managed a 3.5kg carp after I sent my bait about 150m in!
Apparently the fishing is a lot better if you go around to the dam to what looks to be the farm house side.

I grew up in middelburg. Caught some bass at pienaarsdam. We usually only went for a spin there. Believe me not. That place is haunted haha. Lots of school boy stories haha.

pienaarsdam is a nice place.........lots of carp and barbel on the other side of the dam..................great for artlure

pienaars dam and middelburg dam are two different dams,but middleburg dam on the old belfast rd just outside MBRG is good for large and small mouth bass,carp,barbel, i bass there on a boat and watch the carp swim under the boat. out for smallies ,go towards the highway by boat and around the tunnel is ur small mouths. i have heard that the inlet also has yellows and eels. not sure bout the eels.
