Mazeppa Bay

Went down to Mazeppa for couple days with other EL sealine boytjies Spin and Koeks.  Unfortunately the fishing wasnt so great as we were met with a big coldfront when we got there...enter the old brown!  Eventually when the sea died we were able to put some baits off the island for a big fish.

I hooked into a monster  blacktip which I fought for 2.5hours, and eventually lost it in tackle alley near shark point!

darren ,tell your ballie roy and lester, mike dawson says howzit use to fish with them at kwt club about 12 years back stayed down the road from you .

while I was fighting my fish - spin went on with a Bronzie of 67kg - foul hooked in the pec!

Unfortunately koeks got smoked by a big blacktip and rolled him off through 210lb Blood wire - There were plenty small shad about off the island and close to 200 cam out on sunday. Cant wait to go back again!

Thanks for the report, what are the roads like at the moment?

We took the Centane turnoff and took a shortcut which cuts out cats pass, makes a big difference. In general the roads are bad! Id strongly recommend not going in a car - but rather a bakkie with diff-lock as minimum - should it rain you gonna need it.
