Here are some Maxel 50WL reels that I did for Maxel, tbey took the wise descision to on new reels ensure the client get them in optimum working condition so brand new reels I strip clean and service before they get sent to clients. This shows the level of pride and dedication they have to what they offer you and want to ensure you get the very best. I do not know of any other manufacturer or agency doing this on new reels. Remember reels are manufactured then stand for months or longer In a warehouse, then gets shipped an average of 4 months, then sits instore at the agent again in a warehouse for months or longer, then goes to store to sit again. By the time you get any new reel it could have been assembled 1 to a few years back. Please take note of this, to ensure even a brand new reel gets the optimum performance and protection have it at least checked and lubed if dry. I don't just lube I totally strip the reels and do a full service, no half work with me. I salute Maxel, this move is in your best interest as a new Maxel reel owner. It will tberefore serve you well and reliably to ensure maximum enjoyment also. Look at these pictures and see what you get in the reels themselves. Have a look at the gears, solid stainless steel 2 speed gears main and pinion, they are solidly made and will work for many gears wjthout any issue, doubke antireverse dogs. The reel covers are solid alluminium just like the Tiagra and Penn internationals and Alutecnos, Accurate , Makaira and all the top end tuna reels. The bearings are large to handle pressures big fish put on tackle, the drags big for the same reason, the main shaft and spoolshaft also nice and thick for the same reason. Handles can be ordered on the reel in various configurations, so you have options as well here. The big difference is that you can purchase these from Gary and Jessica at a lot less than the other makes. You getting huge value for money investing in these and very importantly back up service is excellent too.
