Hi Guys,

I took a boy and his Dad out fishing in Durban Harbour. I took this boy fishing for the first time in his life last year, and today he was more confident and not shy at all. I always love taking the little ones fishing, it gives me great pleasure.

The wind was howling and so we had to fish of the anchor. We set up the light lines and floats and some lines with sinkers and as the water was dirty decided to use sardine baits. Although I had to assist with casting the young lad hooked and landed 3 Grunter all on his own.

Hi, the smile does say it all. What age must a kid be to take them out to sea  to do a bit of drop shot fishing????????  Been told they have to be 6.

There is no age limit, but 12 and under must wear a life jacket at all times.

Use your discretion as we do not want any little ones hurt.

Eric I take my 4 year old daughter out and she loves it. She catches all the bait for me with her own rod . Best thing you could ever do is take the kids with.  I normally dont go out no1 or anywhere like that , I just stay close inshore when taking the family on the boat.
