Marine Ply Deck thickness

Hi;

Well as suspected my project boat does have some issues. The transom is starting to show rot and delamination on the one side. The deck was recently redone from what i can see. I want to remove the live well bait hatch that was fitted. I am going to have to pull up the whole deck as the front area has not been reinforced with marine ply just glass fibre.

I am curious as to the thickness of the plywood that the decking can be replaced with.

I would ideally like to get the correct measurements of the stringer and cross brace and deck layout.I am going to replace the bottles with foam. and also install inspection hatches as these are missing.

Any assistance in this regard will be appreciated.

Thickness will be dependent on the span that it has to cover. You would need to do an in depth assessment of it is you want to go as light as possible. Otherwise, just overkill with thickness and know that you are covered.

If you post a detailed diagram of the design with dimensions I will be able to give you a better idea.
