mapelane crocs

me and some mates went fishing for a weekend at mapelane,and the sea was $hit so we decided to fish the river.we were told there were crocks there so it was just big bait been used.my mate put 3 whole chokka on and 2 mackeral and threw trhis bait in.we put our rods in the holder,and trues bob he hooked a croc it went up stream around the corner and cut him off on trees.all we saw was its tail hitting the water.any 1 heard of crocs coming out there???

A few years ago a guy got killed in the estuary, trying to save his mate from a croc!

there are plenty crocs in that region and they frequent the sea as well - there are reports from Skiboats finding Crocs behind the back line.

as well as report of croc washing up at Cape Vidal and having to be transported back to ST Lucia

Years Ago when I started fishing league we had night comp on the piece of beach between Mapelane mouth and St Lucia Mouth and that night two Crocs exited the sea and moved along the beach towards the estuary - it was quite comical in that as the crocs moved along the beach - spotlights and headlamps went on

we recently fished St Lucai and also had a croc scare. about 100m from where we were fishing a croc came from the estuary side and actually came out on the bank trying to grab near to the water fisherman. the worst thing was that holiday makers does not seem to know or care that there are crocs in the waters and they let their kids swim in the lagoon mouth!!!
How do we help or stop this problem. should we leave it to the parks board?? they don't seem to care about undersize fish being taken home so why should they care about a croc or 2??
any advice??

they should know that there are crocs there,and they have signs for no swimming.so let them get chomped if they wana swim
