Make your own pension pipe

Hey howsit Guys I just went to my local hardware store and bought a 2m section of PVC pipe and decided to make 2 rod-stands out of it but sometimes I need a short Strong rod-stand and other times I need a long rod stand so I cut the one section shorter than the other at and angle and bob's your uncle you have 2 good rod stand for R40.The diameter of the pipe is 50mm.It's very strong and super easy and quick to make.

Cut the bottom at more of a angle,it makes it easier to stick into the sand and cut a small section off the top ,this allows the reel to "seat" and not twist around

True story..... even my SS ones look like noodles or crinkle cut chips hahaha

Maybe you guys have the drag set way to high on those reels. I have made my own ones before and they worked fine.

I took 1m of aluminium angle iron and tied that to a 50mm x 400mm pvc pipe using 3 stainless bolts.

They are slightly damaged/bent from the sharks running with the bait, but I make sure that I plant them solidly and don't tighten my drag all the way up.

I would cry very hard if I had to lose my kit. It was very expensive as we all know.

Sollies at a time sold the best pipes. Super strong and light, now I can't find it anywhere.

You will get an overwind if your drag is too lose with bronzies, they can go ballistic and often it is the smaller ones, so you need a decent rod holder, certainly not a pvc one and aluminium angle iron and even poor quality stainless simply go bang after a while

Most pipes get bent from too tight a drag and okes being too far from their rods.
