Make your own Drop shot

Have been looking at those the other day, but it will become a bit expensive in the long run if you take into account the variety of soft-bait shapes and sizes out there. You can however make similarly accurate molds from silicone, and it will work out significantly cheaper, and you can use silicone to either make copies of your favourite shapes (just don't take pic's of your copies), or develop your own designs which is way more fun anyway.

A second problem that I have found is that it is really difficult to find appropriate "Soft plastic" raw material to make your soft-baits from. I want to try a product distributed by AMT called "Dragon Skin" which is a more silicon like material that should work like a charm, and If I remember correctly, you can use all kinds of pigments with it.

I have even tried one or two experiments for making "biodegradable" soft-bait mixes, but so far I only got the bio-degradation part right....unfortunately before it got near any fish or water.

I am sure there are some sealiners that experiments with their own soft-baits.... do share!

LOL,
Heres a thought. Gels used for candle making are natural products and can be blended to give different consistancies. It is a natural product, clear and has a melting point of 80 deg C.

I'm busy on plastics right now and I have the right material for the molds and the finished product but I'm not sharing. Ask Berkley to share........::S
