MAG-IT MAGNETIC CAST CONTROL SYSTEM : DAIWA SL20/30SH

Despite their rather easy casting nature, due to the lightweight synthetic spools and centrifugal cast control system, I had so many requests, to also cater for them with the internal MAG-IT system, that I was left no choice and here they are !

The system is fully adjustible from inside and spool speed can be selected, by adding/taking away magnets and further fine tuning can be done, by sliding magnets towards the outer radius of the magplate to slow down, or inwards to speed up the reel.

Narrow spool sl20 or wide spool sl30, they are tough little lightweight reels !

As they have synthetic spools, a ultra light and thin aluminium disc, is fitted to ths RH end of the spool, to bring the electrical conductivity, that is needed for the system to work.

Different generations/ages of the sl20/30sh, show slight difference in the RH side of the frame.
this is a 20 plus year old sl30sh.

Here it is with four tiny, low profile magnets on the plate, before the CorrosionBlock grease coating for extra saltwater protection !

It's going to be a long and busy weekend and by 08H00 this morning, these guys were sorted !

Mostly sl20/30sh models fitted witb the new kit, but also a Penn Squall 30 and a SLX 30SHA with existing kits !
