Madeira 2009

Thanks Kraken…
In my books there makes no sense to release a fish for the hell of it and I will always spend as much time as needed to make sure that fish goes back in good shape!!! I know what you mean about people easily using a tired fish as an excuse to hang it. Loads of big blues being caught in the Algarve at the moment (where I am heading next) and sadly most of them hanged exactly because the guys did not even try to resuscitate the fish!!!
Happy the pics have made you think about making a trip back to Madeira. I surely hope to be back next year!!!

Thanks for the king words SAfish, I am defenitly lucky, but still don´t know if I would donate any of one of my (used) balls to get there...the night life:beer & talent :merm is as good as the fishing in Funchal and you can´t go fishing with no hooks...can you???!!!

I just got back to my favorite ``fishing hole`` on Bazaruto Island and will start the Marlin season in a week. Unfortunetly could not finish the season in Madeira, but the guys had one of the best bites there since the hey days of the mid 90´s in August.
Like almost everyone else Peter, who I work with there, released some great fish ... and I´ll be damed, his best day was only a couple of days after I left, with the best double header I have ever heard of anywhere!!!...both sucessfully released for Angler John Michael at 700 and over a 1000 pounds!!! Any one of those fish is a dream fish any time-any where, now imagine both at the same time!!!.

...OK, i might actually periodically donate one of my balls for that!!! [/i] Fish were caught almost daily over that two week period in August, and then on the 22nd Peter phones me, his voice pitch high telling me he has just had the best day of his fishing life...for a guy that has been fishing for 45 years and as caught over a hundred granders I tought...holy sh!t...he has boated the mythical double grander!!! It was not, Peter´s daughter, Katherine had just released her first ever Marlin at around 600 lbs...it was a junior world record, but still, she choose to let it go.

If anyone interested in seeing Peter‘s blog report just go to http://www.fishmadeira.com [/i]and go to the Capt´s log...some great pics of stupid size fish!!!

Anyone interested in booking for next year should do it now...if you need any help or info you are more than welcome to contact me. Well, I am sure there next year for the Blue girls and this time to do the whole season...now its time to play with the Black beauty´s of Baz!!! Cheers   ABSOLUTE FABULOUS REPORT--ADMIN
